About UK Bridleway Finder
Having recently started horse riding, I found it difficult to find good routes to go hacking. Being a nerdy software developer I decided to create UK Bridleway Finder to help me and the equestrian community find hacking routes in their area.
UK Bridleway Finder is solely developed and managed by myself, but I plan to keep improving it and adding features to make it the best place to search for bridleways in the UK.
Features
- Search by street, village, town, county, postcode, etc.
- Filter map by bridleways, restricted byways, byways open to all traffic, and footpaths.
- Route access verified against public authority open data.
- View details about routes, including designation, highway, horse access, surface, smoothness, track type, difficulty, and trail visibility.
- View comments from other riders about their experience on routes, and add your own comments. Find related routes that connect to the route you're viewing.
Planned Features
- Search by path name/id.
- Favourite ways.
- Information about gates, barriers, and styles.
- Access land on the map.
- Terrain/Elevation data on the map.
- Option for satellite imagery on the map.
- Ability for riders to update or report problems with information about bridleways.
If you have any suggestions for features you'd like to see, please get in touch by emailing admin@bridleways.uk.
